2 cup evaporated milk
2t vanilla
6 egg yolks
2 2/3 cups flaked coconut
2 cup chopped pecans
Mix sugar, butter, milk, vanilla and egg yolks in saucepan.

Ah yes, the cake can be from a mix and it doesn't matter as long as the frosting is homemade!!
It is a pain to separate the whites and yolks, but there's asually a good reason! I tried skipping that step making waffles one time - very heavy doughy result!!
Sweet..that's my kind of recipe!
Mmmm. Will have to try that some time. No doubt about it.
If you leave the egg whites in vanilla pudding you end up with chunky little white globs floating around in it. Heather H.
I bet NOBODY complained if the frosting wasn't just perfect!!!! My guess is that it was all gobbled up in quick fashion. Around here, if anyone mentions something even slightly negative about a tasty treat....someone else says, "Well, I'll just gladly take that off your hands then!"....and there it goes across the table! :)
I can't wait to try this out at our next church potluck!

Rachel, it has coconut... I'd be sliding mine across the table. :)
