Flower Anemones...and baby makes 3.

This is the original Flower Anemone.
Last November it split and the above picture is the offspring.

We were not quite sure how it happened...The Parent was acting sick...and after a week or so the little one showed up.
Last week the Parent was acting sick again...Sure enough it split again. We think the foot, which is like the stem of a mushroom, is what is splitting...The fragment of the foot that comes off then develops into a complete clone of the parent. The new anemone is in the lower center of the picture. The parent's foot can be seen directly to the right. This picture is a couple of days old. As you can see..there are no tentacles on the new anemone.
Today you can see the development of some tentacles...And the beginnings of a mouth in the dead center. These anemones usually cost in the 30$ range....So Wade is happy.
